Outlook: Entering the third season of varsity, the Hawks are looking to make a big move in a tough district in a bigger class. Making it to the state tournament is a worthy goal.

Outlook: The Bulldawgs are accustomed to success, so an early-round departure did not sit well. With a chunk of experienced players back, Las Cruces should be reloaded for another shot.

Outlook: After consecutive state championships, the Bears are poised to make it a trio with a deep, loaded team that's long on speed and quickness. La Cueva has a veteran squad that expects nothing less than to be playing and winning the final game.
Fun Fact: The Bears consecutive championships was a first for the school. No team has won three straight big-school titles.

Outlook: Although the Cavemen are young and inexperienced and the coaching staff is new with a different philosophy and style, Carlsbad has had a strong tradition in the southeast and the expectation is to continue those traits. The Cavemen are looking to make an impact in the abbreviated district race.
